Are you a moving company?+
Yes — Spartan Moving and Storage is a fully licensed and insured Greater Cincinnati moving company running our own trucks and uniformed crews, with Ohio PUCO license and USDOT/MC authority.
Do you actually run your own trucks and crews, or do you broker the job out?+
We run everything ourselves. Our trucks, our uniformed movers, the same crew on both ends of your move. We are not a broker or a matching service, so you will never get handed off to a stranger or emailed a list of carriers — you deal with Spartan from the estimate to the last box.
How does your local pricing work?+
Local moves run hourly — two movers and a truck at $172 an hour, three movers and a truck at $232 — or you can lock in a flat rate that starts at $379 for a studio or one-bedroom. We tell you which makes sense for your job before you book, and the one-hour minimum is waived.
What holds my date, and is it refundable against the bill?+
Putting $90 down books your spot on the truck board, and that $90 isn't money you lose — we subtract it from the total you settle on moving day.
Can you handle OTR and downtown row houses with no driveway?+
That is bread and butter for us. We scout the parking, get the right truck for a tight one-way street, and our crews — Nick Sandoval's especially — are built for steep original staircases and narrow turns. Street-parking-only is normal here, and we plan for it.
Do you move on the hillsides — Mt. Adams, Clifton, Price Hill?+
Yes. Steep streets, retaining walls, and long carries from the curb are part of working the Cincinnati hills. We bring the equipment and the footing to do it safely, and we account for the approach when we quote.
Do you move in winter, with snow and ice on the ground?+
We work year-round. Ohio River Valley winters mean snow, ice storms, and salted streets, so our crews lay heavy floor protection against slush and grit, salt their own footing, and take the hills carefully. Cold weather does not cancel your move.
What kind of storage do you offer?+
Heated, secured storage for the gaps that come up — a closing that slips, a renovation that runs long, a UC student between leases. Your goods are inventoried and climate-protected, and the same crew that stored them brings them back when you are ready.
How is my stuff protected if something goes wrong?+
Every shipment carries $0.60 per pound released value as the federal standard, with full-value protection available if you want more. We also hold up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage per shipment and carry our own insurance — we can issue a certificate of insurance for your building when a COI is required.
Do you cover Northern Kentucky and long-distance moves?+
We do. We cross the river to Covington, Florence, and the rest of NKY all the time, and our own trucks run long-distance routes out to Columbus, Indianapolis, Louisville, Nashville, and farther. Long hauls are quoted by home size and road miles, all under our own USDOT/MC authority.
