01 Overview

Moving Out of Greater Cincinnati for Good

Leaving the Tristate is a different animal than shifting across town. You’re committing your whole household to a truck for hundreds of miles, and the worst feeling is watching it get loaded onto some terminal trailer with strangers’ furniture. Spartan Moving and Storage doesn’t work that way. We run one dedicated truck and one crew for your long-distance move, start to finish.

From an Over-the-Rhine walk-up to a Mason colonial, Spartan Moving and Storage writes the whole job as one flat number up front and holds it — no extra lines once the truck is loaded.

One Crew, Cincinnati to the Door

Eli Hoffman leads our long-haul runs. The same uniformed team that carries your sofa down a Hyde Park staircase is the team that walks it into the new house, whether that’s a condo in Columbus or a place outside Dallas. No handoffs, no consolidation, no “your stuff will arrive sometime in a two-week window.” We’re a licensed Ohio mover with full USDOT and MC interstate authority, running our own equipment.

How We Price the Haul

Instead of a hourly clock that runs while you’re three states away, a long-distance move is quoted off your real inventory and the road miles. We tag and note everything before it leaves the Tristate, give you a written banded number, and stick to it.

  • Banded written quote tied to inventory and mileage, not a creeping per-pound guess
  • $90 down nails down the load and delivery windows, then applied to the final total
  • $0.60 per pound released coverage standard, full-value protection optional
  • Federal cargo coverage up to $1,000,000 per shipment

The Routes We Run

From Cincinnati we head north up I-71 to Cleveland and Columbus, west on I-74 toward Indianapolis and Chicago, south down I-71 and I-75 to Louisville, Nashville, and Atlanta, and on to Charlotte, Washington, and Dallas. Short hop or long pull, you get one point of contact and one accountable crew.

Storage in the Middle

Closings don’t always line up, and a long move can leave you between houses. Because we’re Spartan Moving and Storage, we can hold your goods in our heated, secured Cincinnati facility and deliver when your new place is ready, all on the same quote.

What’s included

  • Dedicated Spartan truck and crew for the haul, no consolidation with strangers' goods
  • Same uniformed movers load in Cincinnati and unload at the destination, both ends
  • Written flat or banded quote based on your inventory, not a per-pound estimate that creeps
  • Inventory tagging and condition notes before anything leaves the Tristate
  • Routing along I-71, I-75, and I-74 with a single point of contact through the whole trip
  • USDOT/MC interstate authority and up to $1,000,000 cargo coverage per shipment

How we land on the price

We open with a short walkthrough or video survey, then set one flat Greater Cincinnati rate off your actual inventory — no hourly meter buried anywhere inside it. Whatever that quote reads is the whole price, with nothing tacked on once the truck is loaded or a winter storm pushes the date.

02 How we protect your move

Your things get handled the way we would handle our own

Each truck rolls out stocked with pads, shrink film, and heavy floor runners — ready to blanket furniture, keep hardwood and stair treads clean through snow and salted-street slush, and cushion the fragile pieces, whether it is a narrow Over-the-Rhine row house with original stairs, a full basement to clear in West Chester, or a hillside place on Mt. Adams where the only parking is the street.

Quilted pads

Dressers, dining tables, and headboards are blanketed right where they stand, padded up well before anything starts down the stairs.

Stretch film

Drawers stay shut and cushions stay clean — wrapped tight so road salt, slush, and a wet walk to the truck never touch the fabric.

Floor & stair guards

Runners down, banisters wrapped, jambs padded — the first thing we do at both homes, so steep original staircases and corners come through untouched.

Built-to-fit crating

In the room, before anything fragile leaves it, we measure a mirror, glass top, framed piece, or flat screen edge to edge and build the crate snug around it.

Break-down & rebuild

Bed frames, tables, and sectionals come apart to ride safe down tight stairwells, and our crew reassembles every one once it is through the new door.

Straps, dollies & gear

A fourth-floor walk-up downtown, a long haul up from a full basement, or the heaviest single piece in the house — each gets the right tie-downs, stair-climbers, and rigging off our truck.

03 Why us

The name painted on the truck is the name signed at the bottom of your estimate

Hire Spartan Moving and Storage and the truck at the curb is ours, the estimate is ours, and the uniformed crew easing your couch down a narrow OTR staircase is on our own Greater Cincinnati payroll — your move is never sold off to someone else. A broker runs it backward: they shop your job to whoever bids cheapest that week, pocket the spread, and wash their hands of it.

Spartan Moving and Storage
  • Our trucks, our fleet, and the full-time background-checked movers in them are on our own payroll — we never round out a crew with labor pulled off a listing
  • The number we put in writing is the number you pay — set, signed, and correct to the dollar before a single box leaves the room
  • One crew the whole way through, from the first piece down the old stairs to the last one carried into the new place
  • Full insurance backs every job, with cargo coverage up to $1,000,000; on top of that we carry the Ohio (PUCO) household-goods license and USDOT/MC authority that interstate runs require
  • One point of contact at our Cincinnati office, alongside you from the first call to the last box set down inside
What a broker does
  • Hands your move to whatever crew underbids the rest in the week you happened to call
  • Lets the total creep up once the truck arrives, padded with charges nobody mentioned the day you booked
  • Walks strangers you have never spoken to through your front door, handing your whole household to a crew nobody can vouch for
  • Leaves you guessing whose policy pays the day a dresser corner gouges a wall on the way down the stairs
  • Drops a call center between you and whoever finally turns up to load, so one plain question becomes a runaround

Questions we hear about this service

Will my furniture get loaded onto somebody else's truck along the way?
No. Spartan runs a dedicated truck for your long-distance move. The crew that loads your boxes in Cincinnati is the crew that carries them off at the other end. There's no terminal swap, no warehouse shuffle, and nothing rides with another family's goods.
How far out from Cincinnati do you actually go?
Regularly to Columbus, Indianapolis, and Louisville on the short runs, and out to Cleveland, Nashville, Chicago, Atlanta, Charlotte, Washington, and as far as Dallas. We're set up for interstate work with full USDOT and MC authority, so it's our crew and our paperwork the whole way.
How is a long-distance price figured compared to a local move?
Long-distance is priced off your inventory and the road miles, not an open hourly clock. We give you a banded written quote up front. To lock the dates we take $90, which we then credit against your final bill, and your goods carry $0.60 per pound standard with full-value coverage available.
