Local Moving Built for How the Queen City Actually Moves
Cincinnati doesn’t move like a flat suburban grid. You’ve got 1800s Italianate brick in Over-the-Rhine with staircases barely wide enough for a couch, hillside homes on Mt. Adams and Price Hill where the truck parks below the front door, and 1920s brick in Hyde Park and Oakley with finished attics and full basements packed to the rafters. Spartan Moving and Storage was started in 2011 by Doug Reinhardt to handle exactly that, and we’ve been the Tristate’s flat-rate crew ever since.
From an Over-the-Rhine walk-up to a Mason colonial, Greater Cincinnati moving crew writes the whole job as one flat number up front and holds it — no extra lines once the truck is loaded.
Our Trucks, Our Movers, One Flat Number
We are a licensed Ohio (PUCO) household-goods mover with USDOT and MC authority, and we run our own fleet out of our Cincinnati yard. The crew that wraps your dresser in the morning is the same uniformed crew that sets it down in the new place. Nobody gets handed off, and nobody bills you for surprises. We quote one flat rate for the whole job after we see your inventory.
What a Local Day Looks Like
Before the date, we walk the tight spots: which OTR stairwell needs a piece taken apart, where the truck can legally sit on a street-parking-only block, how the carry runs up a Clifton retaining wall. On move day we lay heavy floor runners and pad the jambs, which matters in a salted, slushy Ohio winter when everybody’s tracking in snow.
- Two movers and a truck at $172 an hour, three movers and a truck at $232 an hour, no inflated minimum
- Flat-rate local jobs start at $379 for a studio or one-bedroom
- Reserve the date with $90 down, refunded against the final invoice
- $0.60 per pound released coverage standard, full-value protection available, federal cargo coverage up to $1,000,000 per shipment
The Whole Tristate, Not Just the City
We cover Cincinnati proper and run north up I-71 and I-75 to Mason, West Chester, and Blue Ash, east to Hyde Park and Anderson Township, and south across the Ohio River to Covington and Florence, Kentucky. A move from a downtown row house to a brick colonial with a full basement in Mason is one job, one crew, one flat price.

How we land on the price
We open with a short walkthrough or video survey, then set one flat Greater Cincinnati rate off your actual inventory — no hourly meter buried anywhere inside it. Whatever that quote reads is the whole price, with nothing tacked on once the truck is loaded or a winter storm pushes the date.
